Welcome to WW2, your online resource for information on World War II. War Stories contains book excerpts about people and events. Day-by-Day, when complete, will provide a thorough chronology of the war years. Details of the war are easily accessible in the Encyclopedia, Biographies, Weapons, Statistics and Documents sections.
If you lived through the war, or if you would like to pay tribute to someone who did, feel free to contribute to Remembering WW2. For discussion of various aspects of the war, try the Forum.
In the near feature the online Bookstore -- featuring the very best in books, videos and art prints relating to the Second World War -- will be opened. Also planned: the Special Features section, which will focus on such subjects as World War II movies and the music of the era.
Our goal is to compile a comprehensive page of Links to other World War II-related websites, and your help in this endeavor would be appreciated.
The object of this website is not to glorify war. There was nothing glorious about it. It was a dirty, bloody, terrible business. But we should not forget how it happened and why it had to be fought.
